The eHealth Award 2020 kicked off yesterday! During a knowledgeable afternoon jurors, previous winners and startups and healthcare representatives shared insights on healthtech in general and eHealth Award in particular.
The event was hosted in Innovation Skåne’s offices in Lund. Joakim Nelson, CEO of Innovation Skåne, kicked offed the event by welcoming all attendees. He then welcomed the afternoon’s main speaker on to stage, Pelle Johnsson, Clinical Program Manager SDV (Skåne’s Digital Care System), Region Skåne.

Pelle Johnsson was tasked with trying to answer the seemingly impossible question regarding when we’ve reached the digital paradigm shift in healthcare, and how we get there?

A big change for 2020 is that the eHealth Award has grown and will this year award the Nordic’s best healthtech startup. The award was previously only open to Swedish startups. Carolina Wallenius, General Manager, Cerner, and eHealth Award juror presented this news and further elaborated on how startups apply for the eHealth Award.

– People were standing in line at Vitalis last year to get a demonstration of our solution, I hope it will be the same this year. We came home with hundreds of new contacts in our target group from people who had shown real interest in our solution, said Cathrin Jung.

Marianne Larsson, Director of HealthTech Nordic at Innovation Skåne, and eHealth Award juror ended the presentations by giving a short overview of how fast and wide the Nordic healthtech industry is growing. The Nordic solutions are truly spreading worldwide, creating better health for individuals and a better working environment for healthcare professionals.

The eHealth Award aim to promote Nordic startups with an innovative solution that has shown benefits for patients, citizens, healthcare professionals and/or healthcare organisations. The award is a response to the Nordic Innovation’s 2030 Nordic Health System Vision. The winner of eHealth Award is presented at Vitalis, the largest ehealth event in Scandinavia. The winner receives 50 000 SEK, a speaking slot at a relevant conference such as Cerner’s European Collaboration Forum in London 2021 and important publicity.

The award has been presented annually since 2017 and is a co-operation between HealthTech Nordic, Vitalis, Cerner and Sahlgrenska Science Park.
